“Moser String Quartet showed their exceptional prowess in chamber music rendition and a commitment to crafting a distinctive sonic identity as a cohesive ensemble” (during Concours Nicati). Multi-award-winning Moser String Quartet has performed in many countries such as Switzerland, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Hungary, the Netherlands and Japan.

After only three years since their path started, Moser Quartet has been awarded 1st Prize in the International Competition Gran Premi Musical Lauredià (Andorra), 2nd Prize in the Orpheus Swiss Chamber Music Competition (Switzerland) and recently the Special Award “Ambassador Ensemble of the Osaka International Chamber Music Competition 2023” (Japan). The Quartet has also been selected to participate in Concours de Gèneve (Switzerland) in October 2023. Moreover, Moser Quartet has appeared in numerous international festivals such as Trame Sonore Chamber Music Festival, MonteLeón International Chamber Music Festival and Ernen Musikdorf Festival.

As a Swiss-based ensemble, Moser Quartet is very enthusiastic about performing contemporary pieces especially by Swiss composers, which has led them to win 3rd Prize in the Concours Nicati (Switzerland). They made their debut at Stadtcasino Basel, performing Dieter Ammann’s “Distanzenquartett” and premiered Verena Weinmann’s “We are ______.”, composed for Moser Quartet, in Swiss Chamber Music Festival.

Moser Quartet is mentored by Rainer Schmidt, Silvia Simionescu, Anton Kernjak, Anna Gebert and Geneviève Strosser at Hochschule für Musik Basel. They have also been under the tutelage of renowned musicians including Cuarteto Casals, Quatuor Ébène, Alban Berg Quartett, Heime Müller, Eberhard Feltz and Johannes Meissl at various international organisations such as IMS Prussia Cove, MISQA, ICMC Jeunesses Musicales Deutschland and ECMA.

For the season 2023-24, Moser String Quartet is in residence at ProQuartet - Centre Européen de Musique de Chambre, on top of being part of Le Dimore del Quartetto Network and the MERITA Platform.
