Since its founding five years ago, the Moser Quartet has been awarded 1st Prize in the International Competition Gran Premi Musical Lauredià (Andorra), 2nd Prize in the Orpheus Swiss Chamber Music Competition (Switzerland), the Prize “Duranton Consultants” at the Concours FNAPEC (France), the Award for the best interpretation of the commissioned work in the “Bad Tölz Competition 2026” and the Special Award “Ambassador Ensemble of the Osaka International Chamber Music Competition 2023” (Japan). Moreover, the Moser String Quartet has performed in renowned venues such as Philharmonie de Paris and Palau de la Música of Valencia, and has appeared in numerous international festivals such as Trame Sonore CMF, Festival de La Chaise-Dieu, MonteLeón ICMF, String Quartet Biennale Munich, Ernen Musikdorf Festival and L’Orangerie Sonore.
As a Swiss-based ensemble, the Moser Quartet is very enthusiastic about performing contemporary pieces especially by Swiss composers, which led them to win the 3rd Prize in the Concours Nicati (Switzerland). They made their debut at Stadtcasino Basel performing Dieter Ammann’s “Distanzenquartett” and premiered Verena Weinmann’s “We are ______.”, which was composed for them, in the Swiss Chamber Music Festival. The name “Moser” honors Swiss composer Rudolf Moser, after whom the Musik Akademie Basel’s “Moser-Haus” is named, and the place where the Quartet met and rehearsed regularly.
The Moser String Quartet recently completed a Master’s degree in Chamber Music at the Hochschule für Musik Basel, mentored by Silvia Simionescu, Anna Gebert and Anton Kernjak. They have also been under the tutelage of renowned musicians including Cuarteto Casals, Quatuor Ébène, Alban Berg Quartett, Quatuor Modigliani, Heime Müller, Kuss Quartet, Rainer Schmidt, Eberhard Feltz, Geneviève Strosser, Cibrán Sierra and Johannes Meissl at various international organizations such as IMS Prussia Cove, MISQA, ICMC Jeunesses Musicales Deutschland, ProQuartet and ECMA.
In the 2025–26 season, the Moser String Quartet will perform across Switzerland, France, Italy, Scotland, Slovenia and Spain; hold a residency at the Ernen Musikdorf Festival and the Ticino Musica Festival; premiere a string quartet by Antonio Anichini at the Suoni Riflessi Festival; and tour in Japan.
